When are Library materials due?

Please return library materials on their due date which is usually 3 weeks after checkout; items are auto-renewed for another 3 weeks if no one requests the item.

You will receive emailed notices with due date information to your MyVCCCD email. 

Semester-length loans: how to plan ahead

Semester-length loans (textbooks, calculators, laptops, hotspots) are due back by the last day of the semester during which they are borrowed. They cannot be renewed for the next semester.

If semester-length loan materials are not returned by the last day of the semester, this will impede your ability to get in the queue for hold requests on materials for the next semester.

If you want to use the materials for the next semester, you must return your current materials. After you return them, you can place a hold request for the materials up to one week before the first day of the new semester.

Semester-length loans can be picked up starting the first day of the semester; if you have placed anything on hold it will be held for one week.

How do I return Library materials?

You can return Library books by using the Library book drop in Parking Lot 21 or the book drop attached to the library building. Scroll down this page to learn more about where to locate these book drops. Laptops and hotspots must be returned in-person to the Online Student Support Desk on the first floor of the Library.

The book drops are for materials that you have checked out from the Moorpark College Library.

Please do not return any bookstore materials here. Do not return any equipment to the book drops.

There is one book drop in Parking Lot 21 near the Performing Arts building in the lot below where the bus stop is. To get here, follow Collins Road along the left side of campus and turn right at University Drive. The star marks where the bookdrop is within Lot 21.

The book drop is on a concrete divider in Parking Lot 21.

The other book drop is attached to the library building. When you are facing the front of the library, the book drop will be on the far left side of the building.

Stay on the path/ramp that is attached to the library building, do not walk down the sidewalk.

The book drop will be attached to the wall of the library building.  You can pull down the door handle and drop the book in the slot.
