You will want to go to our newspaper database: ProQuest US Newsstream
To get there, you will want to go to the Moorpark College Library page à Click on “Databases” à From the Databases A-Z List, click on the letter “P” à Click on ProQuest US Newsstream
Once you have opened this database, please follow these steps:
- Type an example of your economic term in the search box (some options for seasonal unemployment could be: seasonal unemployment and the tourism industry, season unemployment in retail, seasonal unemployment in tax preparation services, etc.). Please pick a narrowed topic within your economic term. Just typing “seasonal unemployment” will not bring back applicable articles.
- Your search results will pop up. You will want to filter these searches using the “Limit to” column on the left-hand side.
- Check the “Full text” box
- For Source Type, you will want to click on “Newspapers”
- Under “Publication date” you will want to enter a date range for the last year.
- Under “Publication title” you can check boxes to include all the newspapers that your professor allows.
- Click on any article title to open it.
- Click on the “Copy URL” button in the top right hand corner.
- The link will be copied and you can paste it for your assignment.
