Embedding the Library in Canvas

This guide will help faculty with linking library content into their Canvas courses.

Importing Library Assignments, Quizzes, & Modules from Canvas Commons

The Moorpark College Library has created resources/content items such as library assignments and quizzes which may be imported into a faculty member's Canvas course from the Canvas Commons. 

Step 1: Open your Canvas course.

Step 2: In the global navigation bar, select Commons.

Step 3: In the Commons, search for Moorpark College Library. Search results screen with Moorpark College Library typed into search box in Canvas Commons

Step 4: Click on the resource you are interested in. 

Step 5: Click on Import/Download.

Step 6: Select the course(s) to which you'd like to import the page, module, quiz, etc. search box and list of courses to choose from (so you can select what Canvas course you'd like the Commons resource imported to)

Step 7: Click Import into Course. Import into course icon

Now, the Library resource/content item is in your course. 

  1. Go to your Canvas course.
  2. If you have imported a quiz, you'll find it in your Quizzes. If you've imported a Module, you'll find it in the course Module section, etc. Go there to edit the item and customize it for your class if you wish. You can also add the content item to any module by clicking the plus sign on any of your modules and selecting the item.
