Instructions and troubleshooting for accessing streaming video through the Moorpark College Library.

Swank Digital Campus

ANDROID & iPHONE ACCESS

  1. Click on the access link provided by your professor.
  2. You may be directed to login to your My.VCCCD account to verify that you are a student at Moorpark College. 
  3. The page for your streaming video will open in your default web browser.
  4. When you click on the play button, the browser will direct you to open the movie in the Swank Media Player (If you do not have this free app installed, please install through Google Play or the App Store).
  5. Once the Swank Media Player app is installed, go back to the page with the video on it and press play again. The movie should begin playing on your phone. 

COMPUTER ACCESS

  1. Click on the access link provided by your professor.
  2. Please open the link in the Google Chrome browser on your computer. Google Chrome has specific extensions that allow the video to play without needing add-ons. 
  3. You may be directed to login to your My.VCCCD account to verify that you are a student at Moorpark College. 
  4. The movie should begin to play on your computer. 
Is closed captioning available?

Yes, our Swank library should only carry titles with closed captioning. 

How long are films activated in the Digital Campus Portal? 

Films are available for one year from their start date and may be reactivated for additional years. Films MUST be renewed every year. They do NOT renew automatically. 

Can I use one of the currently activated films in the Digital Campus Portal if I did not request it? 

Yes, all member of the Moorpark College Library can view any activated film in our directory. 

Can I stream on my mobile device? 

Yes, but both Android and iPhone devices require the Swank Media Player app to play any videos from the directory. 

 

If there are titles that you would like to use in your courses, please:

  1. Check in the Swank catalog (https://www.swank.com/digital-campus) to see if they are available.
  2. Once you have selected your recommendations for film titles, send the list to Danielle Kaprelian via email (dkaprelian@vcccd.edu) and the librarians will review the titles and request as we are able to.

We are currently limited to requesting 50 titles which will have a one year license. We are looking to request more if this service proves to be popular.
