Research Guides

Research Guides

Research guides are created by librarians and contain information on topics or subjects to help students with learning how to conduct research. Moorpark College Library Research Guides are useful to students because they provide in-depth information and step-by-step instructions or tutorials. Guides can have articles from the web or from an academic database in our collection, library catalog links, video and photo resources, and citation help. They can also include book recommendations, study games, and more.

Contact us if you would like a research guide for your class. Our email is mcreference@vcccd.edu.

Application to Display & Exhibit

If you are interested in displaying items in the Library, please fill out our Moorpark College Library Application to Display & Exhibit form. Go to the form.

Research Help for Your Students

If your students are working on a research assignment, please have them visit the Librarians at the Reference Desk (main floor of the library, 2nd floor) to get help. Students may also set up a one-on-one appointment with a librarian in advance.

The Appointment with a Librarian service allows you to reserve appointments with librarians for up to one hour of uninterrupted, personalized research assistance. If you want to meet with a librarian in-person or online, please email us at mcreference@vcccd.edu

Librarians can assist students with:

  • Developing a research strategy
  • How to use the research databases (EBSCOhost, etc.)
  • Locating sources such as books and articles
  • Citation help (MLA, APA, etc.)
