Printing in the Library: Scanning

A guide on using the new printing system in the Moorpark College Library

Things to know

  • There is no charge to scan.
  • When scanning books, please be aware that there are copyright and fair-use laws that must be observed.
  • You may scan to a flash drive; please refer to instructions in the "Copiers" room on the 2nd/main floor of the LLR.
  • You will email the files to mcreference@vcccd.edu.

Scanning instructions

  1. Place the book face down onto the glass, making sure that the page is up against the upper left-hand corner of the glass.  If you have a stack of single pages, you may place them face-up into the document feeder on the top of the copier.
  2. Using the touchscreen on the copy machine, select “Scanner”.
  3. Press the “Start” button.
  4. If you are scanning pages individually, you will need to set up and press "Start" between each page. The scanner will time out after 60 seconds of inactivity and send what has been scanned.
  5. When scanning from the printers in the library, you must send your file to the Reference Desk email at mcreference@vcccd.edu. Please let the librarian at the desk know that you are sending the file, and they will ask for your email to email the file to you once it is received.
  6. If there is no one available at the Reference Desk, please email to mclibrary@vcccd.edu and speak to someone at the Circulation Desk.
