Research guide for Dr. Booth's English 1A class

Hello Online Friends!

Hello to Professor Booth's online students! My name is Danielle Kaprelian and I'll be your librarian during your English 1A journey. For some of you, this may be your first online class while others of you might be on your tenth online class. Either way, I'm here to help you through the research process for your papers (and really help out with any other questions you might have). We have tons of wonderful resources to make your research easy and...dare I say it...even fun! I'll be magically appearing once we get deeper into the semester to help out as papers start getting assigned.

I would love to meet you! If you are ever in the library, please stop by the Reference Desk and say "hello" (I pretty much look exactly like the cartoon below).

Speed Dating

I know that you all had to create a speed dating profile, so here's mine:

  • Your preferred name: Danielle
  • How you feel about English: I also love English! I actually was an English major in college (UCI) and then went on to get my Master's Degree in Library Science.
  • The last thing you read: I am currently reading a mind-bending book called House of Leaves which is chock-full of very unusual text placement, footnotes, and letters (I love strange things like that).
  • The last song you downloaded: Hmmm - I also mainly use music streaming services, but I recently listened to William Fitzsimmon's acoustic cover of Kanye West's "Heartless."
  • Anything else you'd like to share: I love being outdoors and previously wanted to be a wilderness guide in Alaska (I actually lived there and trained for a while), but eventually got scared after a couple accidents and decided on a safer job as a librarian!
